II Timóteo, 4

1. Eu te conjuro em presença de Deus e de Jesus Cristo, que há de julgar os vivos e os mortos, por sua aparição e por seu Reino:

1. I charge thee, before God and Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead, by his coming, and his kingdom:

2. prega a palavra, insiste oportuna e inoportunamente, repreende, amea­ça, exorta com toda paciência e empenho de instruir.

2. Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine.

3. Porque virá tempo em que os homens já não suportarão a sã doutrina da salvação. Levados pelas próprias paixões e pelo prurido de escutar novidades, ajustarão mestres para si.

3. For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears:

4. Apartarão os ouvidos da verdade e se atirarão às fábulas.

4. And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables.

5. Tu, porém, sê prudente em tudo, paciente nos sofrimentos, cumpre a missão de pregador do Evangelho, consagra-te ao teu ministério.

5. But be thou vigilant, labour in all things, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry. Be sober.

6. Quanto a mim, estou a ponto de ser imolado e o instante da minha libertação se aproxima.*

6. For I am even now ready to be sacrificed: and the time of my dissolution is at hand.

7. Combati o bom combate, terminei a minha carreira, guardei a fé.

7. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

8. Resta-me agora receber a coroa da justiça, que o Senhor, justo Juiz, me dará naquele dia, e não somente a mim, mas a todos aqueles que aguardam com amor a sua aparição.*

8. As to the rest, there is laid up for me a crown of justice, which the Lord the just judge will render to me in that day: and not only to me, but to them also that love his coming. Make haste to come to me quickly.

9. Procura vir ter comigo quanto antes.

9. For Demas hath left me, loving this world, and is gone to Thessalonica:

10. Demas me abandonou, por amor das coisas do século presente, e se foi para Tessalônica. Crescente, para a Galácia; Tito, para a Dalmácia.

10. Crescens into Galatia, Titus into Dalmatia.

11. Só Lucas está comigo. Toma contigo Marcos e traze-o, porque me é bem útil para o ministério.*

11. Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

12. Tíquico enviei-o para Éfeso.

12. But Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.

13. Quando vieres, traze contigo a capa que deixei em Trôade na casa de Carpo, e também os li­vros, principalmente os pergaminhos.*

13. The cloak that I left at Troas, with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, especially the parchments.

14. Alexandre, o ferreiro, me tratou muito mal. O Senhor há de lhe pagar pela sua conduta.

14. Alexander the coppersmith hath done me much evil: the Lord will reward him according to his works:

15. Tu também guarda-te dele, porque fez oposição cerrada à nossa pregação.

15. Whom do thou also avoid, for he hath greatly withstood our words.

16. Em minha primeira defesa não houve quem me assis­tisse; todos me desampararam! (Que isto não seja imputado.)*

16. At my first answer no man stood with me, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their charge.

17. Contudo, o Senhor me assistiu e me deu forças, para que, por meu intermédio, a boa mensagem fosse plenamente anunciada e chegasse aos ouvidos de todos os pagãos. E fui salvo das fauces do leão.*

17. But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that by me the preaching may be accomplished, and that all the Gentiles may hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

18. O Senhor me salvará de todo mal e me preservará para o seu Reino celestial. A ele a glória por toda a eternidade! Amém.

18. The Lord hath delivered me from every evil work: and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

19. Saúda Prisca e Áquila, e a família de Onesíforo.

19. Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.

20. Erasto ficou em Corinto. Deixei Trófimo doente em Mileto.

20. Erastus remained at Corinth. And Trophimus I left sick at Miletus.

21. Apressa-te a vir antes do inverno. Saúdam-te Eubulo, Pudente, Lino, Cláudia e todos os irmãos.

21. Make haste to come before winter Eubulus and Pudens, and Linus and Claudia, and all the brethren, salute thee.

22. O Senhor esteja com o teu espírito! A graça esteja convosco!

22. The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.
