Leviticus, 3

1. ' "If his sacrifice is a communion sacrifice, and if he offers an animal from the herd, be it male or female, whatever he offers before Yahweh must be unblemished.

1. "If a man's offering is a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offers an animal from the herd, male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the LORD.

2. He will lay his hand on the victim's head and slaughter it at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. The priests descended from Aaron will then pour the blood all around the altar.

2. And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering and kill it at the door of the tent of meeting; and Aaron's sons the priests shall throw the blood against the altar round about.

3. He will offer part of the communion sacrifice as food burnt for Yahweh: the fat covering the entrails, all the fat on the entrails,

3. And from the sacrifice of the peace offering, as an offering by fire to the LORD, he shall offer the fat covering the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails,

4. both kidneys, the fat on them and on the loins, the mass of fat which he will remove from the liver and kidneys.

4. and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them at the loins, and the appendage of the liver which he shall take away with the kidneys.

5. The priests descended from Aaron will then burn this on the altar, in addition to the burnt offering, on the wood of the fire, food burnt as a smell pleasing to Yahweh.

5. Then Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt offering, which is upon the wood on the fire; it is an offering by fire, a pleasing odor to the LORD.

6. "If it is an animal from the flock which he offers as a communion sacrifice to Yahweh, be the animal that he offers male or female, it must be unblemished.

6. "If his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering to the LORD is an animal from the flock, male or female, he shall offer it without blemish.

7. "If he offers a sheep, he will offer it before Yahweh,

9. Of the communion sacrifice he will offer the following as food burnt for Yahweh: the fat, all the tail taken off near the base of the spine, the fat covering the entrails, all the fat on the entrails,

9. Then from the sacrifice of the peace offering as an offering by fire to the LORD he shall offer its fat, the fat tail entire, taking it away close by the backbone, and the fat that covers the entrails, and all the fat that is on the entrails,

10. both kidneys, the fat on them and on the loins, the mass of fat which he will remove from the liver and kidneys.

11. The priest will then burn this on the altar as food, as food burnt for Yahweh.

14. This is what he will then offer of it as food burnt for Yahweh: the fat covering the entrails, all the fat on the entrails,

14. Then he shall offer from it, as his offering for an offering by fire to the LORD, the fat covering the entrails, and all the fat that is on the entrails,

15. both kidneys, the fat on them and on the loins, the mass of fat which he will remove from the liver and kidneys.

15. and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them at the loins, and the appendage of the liver which he shall take away with the kidneys.

16. The priest will then burn these pieces on the altar as food burnt as a smell pleasing to Yahweh. "All the fat belongs to Yahweh.

16. And the priest shall burn them on the altar as food offered by fire for a pleasing odor. All fat is the LORD's.

17. This is a perpetual law for all your descendants, wherever you may live: that you will not eat either fat or blood." '

17. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations, in all your dwelling places, that you eat neither fat nor blood."
