Jeremiah, 48

36. Therefore my heart shall sound for Moab like pipes: and my heart a sound like pipes for the men of the brick wall: because he hath done more than he could, therefore they have perished.

Jeremiah 48 describes the imminent destruction of Moab by the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, because of his arrogance and wickedness against God. The verses selected below describe the divine judgment on Moab, the lamentation of their people, and God's sovereignty over all nations.

Isaiah 16:6 - "We have heard of the superb of Moab, his arrogance and pride, his insolence and his empty brave." This verse refers to Moab's arrogant attitude, which led to his conviction and punishment.
