Isaiah, 38

8. Behold I will bring again the shadow of the lines, by which it is now gone down in the sun dial of Achaz with the sun, ten lines backward. And the sun returned ten lines by the degrees by which it was gone down.

Isaiah 38 tells the story of King Hezekiah, who badly gets sick and receives the news that he will die soon. He prays to the Lord and asks him to grant him more life. God hears your prayer and gives you another 15 years. The verses below highlight topics such as divine healing, God's mercy, and the importance of prayer.

Psalm 30:2 - "Lord my God, I cry out for you for help, and you heal me." This verse talks about divine healing, which is what Hezekiah asked the Lord. He turned to God in his affliction and was healed.

Psalm 103:3 - "He is the one who forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases." This verse highlights the merciful nature of God, which not only forgives our sins, but also heals our diseases.

James 5:15 - "The prayer with faith shall heal the sick; the Lord shall raise him. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." This verse shows the importance of prayer in the search for healing. Hezekiah fervently prayed to the Lord and was answered.

Psalm 30:5 - "For your wrath lasts only a moment, but your favor lasts a lifetime; crying may persist a night, but in the morning the joy erupts." This verse highlights the mercy and love of God, which despite the illness of Hezekiah, still favored him with more life.

Psalm 116:1-2-"I love the Lord, for he hears my voice and my supplication. For he leaned his ears into me, I will invoke him as long as I live." This verse shows the importance of prayer and trust in God. Hezekiah trusted God and prayed for healing, and was heard and answered by the Lord.
