Wisdom of Solomon, 12

22. Therefore, while you give us discipline, you give our enemies a multiplicity of scourges, so that in judging we may think on your goodness, and when we are judged, we may hope for mercy.

Revelation 2:5-"Remember where it fell! Repent and practice the works you practiced at the beginning." This verse talks about repentance and the need to turn to the things of God.
