Jeremiah, 25

26. and likewise, all the kings of the north from near to far, each one facing his brother, and all the kingdoms upon the face of the earth, and the king of Sesac: all these shall drink after them.

Jeremiah 25 presents the prophecy of the chalice of the wrath of God that will be shed over the nations. God is tired of the sin and idolatry of the people and sends Jeremiah to warn them about the imminent destruction. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter:

Isaiah 51:17: "Awaken, awaken you! Get up, O Jerusalem, that you have drank from the hand of the Lord the chalice of your wrath; you drank, sugast, and let it exhaust." This verse presents an image similar to that of God's wrath, showing that the idea is not exclusive to Jeremiah.

Revelation 14:10: "He will also drink from the wine of the cholera of God, which has been prepared without mixing, in the chalice of his wrath; and will be tormented with fire and sulfur before the holy angels and before the lamb." This verse presents a future view of God's wrath being shed over those who reject Him.

Psalm 75:8: "For in the hand of the Lord there is a chalice, whose wine foam, full of mixture; it gives him drinking; but all the wicked of the earth will sip and drink to the feces." This verse shows that the idea of ​​God's wrath is a powerful image that crosses the whole old and New Testament.

Isaiah 24:19: "The earth is totally broken, the earth is at all cleared, the earth is shaken in an extreme way." This verse presents a description of the destruction that will come as a result of God's wrath.

Matthew 26:39: "And, advanced a little, he fell on his face, praying and saying, My father, if it is possible, passes me this chalice; however, not as I want, but how you you want. " This verse presents an image of Jesus using the chalice metaphor to describe the suffering that was about to face.
