Matthew, 17

1. And after six days, Jesus took Peter and James and his brother John, and he led them onto a lofty mountain separately.

1. Nakon šest dana uze Isus sa sobom Petra, Jakova i Ivana, brata njegova, te ih povede na goru visoku, u osamu,

2. And he was transfigured before them. And his face shined brightly like the sun. And his garments were made white like snow.

2. i preobrazi se pred njima. I zasja mu lice kao sunce, a haljine mu postadoše bijele kao svjetlost.

3. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, speaking with him.

3. I gle: ukazaše im se Mojsije i Ilija te razgovarahu s njime.

4. And Peter responded by saying to Jesus: “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you are willing, let us make three tabernacles here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

4. A Petar prihvati i reèe Isusu: "Gospodine, dobro nam je ovdje biti. Ako hoæeš, naèinit æu ovdje tri sjenice, tebi jednu, Mojsiju jednu i Iliji jednu."

5. And while he was still speaking, behold, a shining cloud overshadowed them. And behold, there was a voice from the cloud, saying: “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”

5. Dok je on još govorio, gle, svijetao ih oblak zasjeni, a glas iz oblaka govoraše: "Ovo je Sin moj, Ljubljeni! U njemu mi sva milina! Slušajte ga!"

6. And the disciples, hearing this, fell prone on their face, and they were very afraid.

6. Èuvši glas, uèenici padoše licem na zemlju i silno se prestrašiše.

7. And Jesus drew near and touched them. And he said to them, “Rise up and do not be afraid.”

7. Pristupi k njima Isus, dotakne ih i reèe: "Ustanite, ne bojte se!"

8. And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone.

8. Podigoše oèi, ali ne vidješe nikoga doli Isusa sama.

9. And as they were descending from the mountain, Jesus instructed them, saying, “Tell no one about the vision, until the Son of man has risen from the dead.”

9. Dok su silazili s gore, zapovjedi im Isus: "Nikomu ne kazujte viðenje dok Sin Èovjeèji od mrtvih ne uskrsne."

10. And his disciples questioned him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that it is necessary for Elijah to arrive first?”

10. Upitaše ga uèenici: "Što dakle pismoznanci govore da prije treba da doðe Ilija?"

11. But in response, he said to them: “Elijah, indeed, shall arrive and restore all things.

11. On im odgovori: "Ilija æe doduše doæi i sve obnoviti.

12. But I say to you, that Elijah has already arrived, and they did not recognize him, but they did whatever they wanted to him. So also shall the Son of man suffer from them.”

12. No velim vam: Ilija je veæ došao, ali ga ne upoznaše, veæ uèiniše s njim što im se prohtjelo. Tako je i Sinu Èovjeèjemu trpjeti od njih."

13. Then the disciples understood that he had spoken to them about John the Baptist.

13. Tada razumješe uèenici da im to reèe o Ivanu Krstitelju.

14. And when he had arrived at the multitude, a man approached him, falling to his knees before him, saying: “Lord, take pity on my son, for he is an epileptic, and he suffers harm. For he frequently falls into fire, and often also into water.

14. Kada doðoše k mnoštvu, pristupi mu èovjek, padne pred njim na koljena

15. And I brought him to your disciples, but they were not able to cure him.”

15. i reèe: "Gospodine, smiluj se sinu mojemu jer je mjeseèar i zlo mu je. Èesto doista pada u oganj i èesto u vodu.

16. Then Jesus responded by saying: “What an unbelieving and perverse generation! How long shall I be with you? How long shall I endure you? Bring him here to me.”

16. Dovedoh ga tvojim uèenicima i ne mogoše ga izlijeèiti."

17. And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.

17. A Isus odgovori: "O rode nevjerni i opaki! Dokle mi je biti s vama! Dokle li vas podnositi! Dovedite mi ga ovamo!"

18. Then the disciples approached Jesus privately and said, “Why were we unable to cast him out?”

18. I zaprijeti Isus zloduhu te on iziðe iz njega. I ozdravi djeèak toga èasa.

19. Jesus said to them: “Because of your unbelief. Amen I say to you, certainly, if you will have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it shall move. And nothing will be impossible for you.

19. Tada uèenici pristupiše nasamo k Isusu i rekoše: "Zašto ga mi ne mogosmo izagnati?"

20. But this kind is not cast out, except through prayer and fasting.”

20. Kaže im: "Zbog vaše malovjernosti. Zaista, kažem vam, ako imadnete vjere koliko je zrno gorušièino te reknete ovoj gori: 'Premjesti se odavde onamo!', premjestit æe se i ništa vam neæe biti nemoguæe."

21. And when they were conversing together in Galilee, Jesus said to them: “The Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

22. And they will kill him, but he will rise again on the third day.” And they were extremely saddened.

22. A kad su se skupili u Galileji, reèe im Isus: "Sin Èovjeèji ima biti predan ljudima u ruke

23. And when they had arrived at Capernaum, those who collected the half shekel approached Peter, and they said to him, “Doesn’t your Teacher pay the half shekel?”

23. i ubit æe ga, ali on æe treæi dan uskrsnuti." I ožalostiše se silno.

24. He said, “Yes.” And when he had entered into the house, Jesus went before him, saying: “How does it seem to you, Simon? The kings of the earth, from whom do they receive tribute or the census tax: from their own sons or from foreigners?”

24. Kad stigoše u Kafarnaum, pristupe Petru oni što ubiru dvodrahme pa mu rekoše: "Uèitelj vaš ne plaæa dvodrahme?"

25. And he said, “From foreigners.” Jesus said to him: “Then the sons are free.

25. "Plaæa", odgovori. A kad on uðe u kuæu, pretekne ga Isus: "Što ti se èini, Šimune? Kraljevi zemaljski od koga ubiru carinu ili porez? Od svojih sinova ili od tuðih?"

26. But so that we may not become an obstacle to them: go to the sea, and cast in a hook, and take the first fish that is brought up, and when you have opened its mouth, you will find a shekel. Take it and give it to them, for me and for you.”

26. Kad on odgovori: "Od tuðih!", reèe mu Isus: "Sinovi su, dakle, osloboðeni.

27.

27. Ali da ih ne sablaznimo, poði k moru, baci udicu i prvu ribu koja naiðe uzmi, otvori joj usta i naæi æeš stater. Uzmi ga pa im ga podaj za me i za se."
