1 John, 2

27. But as for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you; since the anointing he gave you teaches you everything, and since it is true, not false, remain in him just as he has taught you.

Chapter 2 of 1 St. John talks about the importance of obeying God's commandments and following the example of Jesus. In addition, the author warns of the presence of false teachers and teaches about fraternal love among the brothers in faith. Below are five verses related to these themes:

Proverbs 19:16: "He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul; but what despises his ways will die." This verse emphasizes the importance of obeying God's commandments, which bring life and protection to those who follow them.

John 15:10: "If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love." Jesus is the maximum example of obedience to God's commandments, and by following Him, we also remain in the love of God.

Matthew 7:15: "Beware of the false prophets, who are presented to you in disguise in sheep, but inside they are stole wolves." Like 1 St. John 2 warns of the presence of false teachers, this verse of Matthew warns about the need to discern the teachings of those who present itself as a religious leader.

Romans 13:8: "You should not be to anyone but the love with which you love each other; The practice of fraternal love is one of the main messages of 1 St. John 2, and this verse of Romans emphasizes that loving their neighbor is to fulfill God's law.

Ephesians 2:10: "For we are his own making, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God in advance prepared for us to walk in them." Just as 1 St. John 2 highlights the importance of following the example of Jesus, this verse of Ephesians teaches that we were created in Christ to perform good works that were prepared by God for us.
