1 Chronicles, 2

1. These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.

19. Azubah died, and Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur.

20. Hur fathered Uri, Uri fathered Bezalel.

21. Afterwards, Hezron married the daughter of Machir, father of Gilead; he married her when he was sixty years old and she bore him Segub.

22. Segub fathered Jair who held twenty-three towns in the territory of Gilead.

22. and Segub was the father of Ja'ir, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.

23. From them, however, Geshur and Aram took the Encampments of Jair and Kenath with its dependencies: sixty towns. All these used to belong to the sons of Machir father of Gilead.

23. But Geshur and Aram took from them Havvoth-ja'ir, Kenath and its villages, sixty towns. All these were descendants of Machir, the father of Gilead.

24. After Hezron's death, Caleb married Ephrathah, wife of Hezron his father, who bore him Ashhur father of Tekoa.

24. After the death of Hezron, Caleb went in to Eph'rathah, the wife of Hezron his father, and she bore him Ashhur, the father of Teko'a.

25. Jerahmeel, Hezron's eldest son, fathered Hezron, his first-born, Ram, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, Ahijah.

25. The sons of Jerah'meel, the first-born of Hezron: Ram, his first-born, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahi'jah.

26. Jerahmeel had another wife called Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.

27. Sons of Ram, Jerahmeel's first-born: Maaz, Jamin and Eker.

32. Sons of Jada, Shammai's brother: Jether and Jonathan. Jether died leaving no sons.

33. Sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.

34. Sheshan had no sons, only daughters. He had an Egyptian slave Jarha

39. Azariah fathered Helez, Helez fathered Eleasah,

39. Azari'ah was the father of Helez, and Helez of Ele-a'sah.

40. Eleasah fathered Sismai, Sismai fathered Shallum,

40. Ele-a'sah was the father of Sismai, and Sismai of Shallum.

41. Shallum fathered Jekamiah, Jekamiah fathered Elishama.

41. Shallum was the father of Jekami'ah, and Jekami'ah of Eli'shama.

42. Sons of Caleb, Jerahmeel's brother: Mesha, his first-born, who fathered Ziph. His son was Mareshah, father of Hebron.

42. The sons of Caleb the brother of Jerah'meel: Mare'shah his first-born, who was the father of Ziph. The sons of Mare'shah: Hebron.

43. Sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem and Shema.

44. Shema fathered Raham, father of Jorkeam. Rekem fathered Shammai.

46. Ephah, Caleb's concubine, gave birth to Haran, Moza and Gazez. Haran fathered Gazez.

46. Ephah also, Caleb's concubine, bore Haran, Moza, and Gazez; and Haran was the father of Gazez.

47. Sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah and Shaaph.

47. The sons of Jah'dai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Sha'aph.

48. Maacah, Caleb's concubine, gave birth to Sheber and Tirhanah.

48. Ma'acah, Caleb's concubine, bore Sheber and Tir'hanah.

49. She gave birth to Shaaph, who fathered Madmannah, and Sheva, who fathered Machbenah and Gibea. The daughter of Caleb was Achsah.

49. She also bore Sha'aph the father of Madman'nah, Sheva the father of Machbe'nah and the father of Gib'e-a; and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.

50. These were the sons of Caleb. Sons of Hur, the first-born of Ephrathah: Shobal fathered Kiriath-Jearim;

51. Salma fathered Bethlehem; Hareph fathered Beth-Gader.

52. Shobal, father of Kiriath-Jearim, had sons: Haroeh, that is, half of the Manahathites,

53. and the clans of Kiriath-Jearim: the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites and Mishraites. Their descendants are the people of Zorah and Eshtaol.

53. And the families of Kir'iath-je'arim: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shu'mathites, and the Mish'ra-ites; from these came the Zo'rathites and the Esh'taolites.

54. Sons of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth Beth-Joab, half of the Manahathites, the Zorathites,

55. the Sophrite clans living at Jabez, the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, the Sucathites. They were the Kenites descended from Hammath, father of the House of Rechab.

55. The families also of the scribes that dwelt at Jabez: the Ti'rathites, the Shim'e-athites, and the Su'cathites. These are the Ken'ites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Rechab.
