Psalm 103 is a song of praise and gratitude to God for His mercy and kindness to His people. In it, the psalmist extols the grandeur of God and his wonderful works. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter:
Deuteronomy 7:9: "Know, therefore, that the Lord, His God, is God; He is the faithful God, who holds the covenant and goodness for a thousand generations of those who love and obey Him in their commandments." This verse highlights God's faithfulness to maintain His covenant and goodness to those who love and obey His commandments, a theme that is emphasized in Psalm 103.
Isaiah 43:25: "It is me, myself, the one who erases his transgressions, for the sake of me, and who no longer remembers his sins." Just as the psalmist thanks God for forgiving his sins and healing his sickness (Psalm 103:3), this verse of Isaiah highlights the grace and mercy of God to forgive the transgressions of his people.
Lamentations 3:22-23: "The Lord's mercies are the cause of not being consumed, because their mercies have no end; they are renewed every morning. Great is your faithfulness." The psalmist extols the mercy and faithfulness of God in Psalm 103, and this verse of lamentations reinforces this message by highlighting that it is thanks to the mercy of the Lord that his people are not destroyed.
Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this is not come from you, it is the gift of God; not by works, that no one can glornize." The psalmist recognizes that his salvation and redemption come from God (Psalm 103:4), and this verse of Ephesians emphasizes that salvation is a free gift from God, received by faith and not by works.
James 1:17: "Every good gift and every perfect gift comes from above, coming down from the father of lights, which does not change as fickle shadows." Just as the psalmist extols God's goodness and generosity in Psalm 103, this Verse of James points out that all the good little gifts and gifts come from God, the Father of Lights.
