St. Matthew 19 presents Jesus' teachings of divorce, wealth and salvation. Jesus talks about how divorce was not in God's original plans, how difficult it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven, and how to follow Jesus requires sacrifices and renunciations. Following, five verses related to the topics addressed in São Matthew 19:
Genesis 2:24: "Therefore, man will leave his father and mother and join his wife, and they will become one flesh." This verse is quoted by Jesus in Matthew 19:5, when He talks about the importance of marriage and how God created man and woman to be one flesh.

Matthew 19:21: "Jesus said to Him, 'If you want to be perfect, go, sell your goods, give it to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven; then come and follow me.'"
