1 Samuel, 15

9. But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all [that was] good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing [that was] vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.

Chapter 15 of 1 Samuel narrates God's command to completely destroy the Amalequites and all that belongs to them. 1 John 2:15-17: "Do not love the world, nor what is in the world. If someone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, lust From the eyes and the pride of life, it does not come from the Father, but from the world. The world passes, and its lust; but he who does the will of God remains forever. " This verse talks about the importance of not loving the world and its fleeting things, but doing God's will and remaining in His presence.
