1 Chronicles, 6

65. And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities, which are called by [their] names.

Chapter 6 of 1 chronicles presents the genealogy of the Levites, including the descendants of Aaron, the first high priest. The names of leaders of Levitic families and the distribution of the cities of refuge are mentioned. Following are five verses related to the topics addressed in 1 Chronicles 6:

Exodus 6:16-20: "These are the names of Levi's children, according to their generations: Gérson, Coate and Merari. And the years of Levi's life were one hundred and thirty-seven years. Gérson's children: Libni and Simei, according to his families. And the children of Coate: Arão, Izar, Hebrom and Uziel. And the years of Coate's life were one hundred and thirty -three years. " This verse presents the origin of the tribe of Levi and the names of his children, including Arão, the father of Moses and Aaron.
