6. But did not my words and statutes, with which I had charged my servants the prophets, overtake your ancestors just the same?" ' So they repented and said, 'Yahweh Sabaoth has treated us as he resolved to do, and as our ways and deeds deserved.'
Zechariah 1 begins with a message from the Lord to the prophet Zechariah to call the people back to repentance and obedience to God's law. Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans of peace and not evil, to give them a future and hope."
