Jeremiah, 2

19. Your wickedness will bring its own punishment, your infidelities will bring you to book, so give thought and see how evil and bitter it is to abandon Yahweh your God and not to stand in awe of me, the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth declares.

Hosea 2:13: "She did not acknowledge that I was the one who gave her the wheat, the new wine and the oil, and multiply the silver and the gold, which they used for Baal." This verse describes how Israel forgot that God was the source of all his material blessings, giving his prosperity to Baal, a false God.
