Notes de bas de page:
7:1-3 - Melchizedek is presented as a mysterious and superior figure, an eternal priest who prefigures Christ. His likeness to Christ highlights the continuity and perfection of the priesthood (see also Genesis 14:18-20 and Psalm 110:4).
7:11-14 - The author explains that the Melchizedek priesthood is superior to the Levitical priesthood because it is not based on genealogy but on an eternal and unshakable priesthood. Christ, therefore, is our High Priest (see also Psalm 110:4 and Matthew 22:41-46).
7:15-17 - Christ's priesthood, according to the order of Melchizedek, is indestructible and eternal, unlike the Levitical priesthood, which depended on human succession. Christ's eternity guarantees our permanent redemption (see also Romans 6:9 and 1 Corinthians 15:54).
7:18-19 - The author emphasizes the ineffectiveness of the old covenant to bring about perfection, contrasting it with the hope of a new covenant in Christ, which is based on grace (see also Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Hebrews 8:6).
7:22-25 - Christ is the Mediator of a better covenant, based on His immutability. He constantly intercedes for us, offering full and eternal salvation (see also Romans 8:34 and 1 John 2:1-2).
