34. but Aaron and his sons burned the offerings on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense; they were entirely responsible for the most holy things and for the ritual of expiation for Israel, in accordance with all that Moses, servant of God, had commanded.

Chapter 6 of 1 chronicles presents the genealogy of the Levites, including the descendants of Aaron, the first high priest.
