Isaiah, 16

8. For the fields of Heshbon languish, [and] the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come [even] unto Jazer, they wandered [through] the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.

Chapter 16 of Isaiah is a prophecy about the destruction of Moab and the promise that one day God will restore the glory of the people of Moab. The selected verses are as follows:

Jeremiah 48:47: "However, I will restore the luck of Moab in recent days, says the Lord." This verse is a restoration promise for Moab, which is mentioned in Isaiah 16.

Amos 2:1: "Thus saith the Lord, For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not remove the punishment, because it burned the bones of the king of Edom to Cal." This verse talks about Moab's sin and its punishment, which is relevant to Moab's trial described in Isaiah 16.

Jeremiah 48:36: "That's why my heart moans because of Moab as flutists, and my heart moans like flutes because of the men of quir-men; for all his wealth has faded." This verse describes the lamentation of the prophet Jeremiah by Moab, who has lost his wealth and is suffering, a theme that is also mentioned in Isaiah 16.

Ezekiel 25:8-9: "Thus saith the Lord God, For worse and Seir say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all nations, so behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, since their cities Borders, the glory of the land of Bet-Jesimote, Baoal-Meom and Quiriataim. " These verses talk about Moab's attitude towards Judah and the punishment they will receive because of it. This punishment is similar to that described in Isaiah 16.

Jeremiah 48:28: "Leave the cities, and dwell in the rocks, O inhabitants of Moab, and thirst like the dove that nests into the bottom of the cave's mouth." This verse describes the despair of the inhabitants of Moab amid the destruction of their cities, a theme that is also mentioned in Isaiah 16.
