Jeremiah, 51

59. This is the message Jeremiah gave to Seraiah, son of Neriah who is Mahseiah's son, when he went to Babylon at the command of Zedekiah, who was then in the fourth year of his reign as king of Judah.

Isaiah 13:19: "Babylon, the jewel of the kingdoms, glory and pride of the Chaldeans, will be like Sodom and Gomorrah when God destroyed them." This verse speaks of the fall of Babylon, which will be punished for its arrogance and sins against God.

Jeremiah 50:46: "Listen to the cry of Babylon; the sound of great destruction comes from the land of the Chaldeans." This verse speaks of the imminent destruction of Babylon and the cry that will be heard throughout the earth.
