6. Therefore a curse consumes the land and its people burn for their guilt. Few of its inhabitants are left.
Isaiah 24 is a chapter that talks about the destruction that will come upon all the earth because of the rebellion against God. The chapter begins with the description of the earth being completely devastated and its inhabitants suffering the consequences of evil they have practiced. He then talks about the punishment that will come upon the powerful of the earth and the glory that God will receive when restoring the order. Below are five verses related to the topics addressed in Isaiah 24:
Psalm 46:8 - "Come, contemplate the works of the Lord; what desolations have done on earth!" This verse talks about God's ability to cause desolation on earth as a form of punishment for the sins of men.
Matthew 24:21 - "For there will then be great affliction, as has never been since the beginning of the world so far, nor will there be." This verse talks about the coming judgment that God will bring about the earth, which will be a time of great distress.
Jeremiah 25:31 - "The crash shall come to the end of the earth, for the Lord has to strive with the nations, will enter into judgment with all the flesh; the wicked shall surrender to the sword, says the Lord." This verse talks about God's dispute with the nations of the earth, and how he will bring judgment on all the wicked.
Revelation 19:1-2 - "Then these things heard in heaven as a large voice of a great multitude, which said, Hallelujah! Salvation, and glory, and power belong to our God; for true and righteous are the righteous his judgments, for he judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her prostitution, and from her hands avenged the blood of her servants. " This verse talks about the glory that God will receive when bringing judgment on the earth and punishing the wicked.
Isaiah 26:21 - "For behold, the Lord will leave his place to punish the residents of the earth because of his iniquity; and the earth will discover his blood, and will no longer cover his dead." This verse talks about how God will come out of his place to punish the residents of the earth because of his iniquity.
