Hebrews 5 deals with the importance of priesthood and the role of the high priest to offer sacrifices for the sins of the people. The author compares the high priest to Jesus Christ, noting that Jesus was also called by God to be a high priest and offer sacrifices for the sins of humanity. The chapter also addresses the need for spiritual maturity and knowledge of God's Word to discern between good and evil.
