Chapter 10 of Ezra talks about the restoration of the covenant of God with the people of Israel, after the discovery that many of the Jewish leaders had married foreign women, which was prohibited by God's law. Deuteronomy 7:3-4: "Do not be united in marriage with them, and do not allow your children to marry their children, for they would deviate them to worship other gods. This would lead to the wrath of the Lord against you and would result in yours destruction quickly.
