Ezekiel, 14

22. there are survivors, sons and daughters who will be brought out. They will come to you here, and when you see their way of life and their deeds, you will no longer be shocked at the disaster I brought on Jerusalem and at everything that happened to her.

Ezekiel 14 talks about divine rebuke to the idolatrous leaders of Israel who sought guidance from the prophet while still kept their idols in their hearts. Jeremiah 11:11, "So thus the Lord says, Behold, I will bring upon them an evil that they cannot escape; and will cry to me, but I will not hear them." This verse emphasizes that God will not meet the prayers of those who seek their help if they continue to follow their own ways.

Psalm 66:18: "If I had contemplated vanity in the heart, the Lord would not have heard me." This verse points out that iniquity in one's heart can prevent God from hearing His prayers.

Proverbs 1:28-29: "Then they will call me, but I will not answer; they will seek me, but they will not find me. For they bored science and did not prefer the fear of the Lord." This verse shows that those who despise the wisdom and fear of the Lord will not have their prayers heard.
