29. Yet each of these nations made its own gods, and placed them in the sanctuaries on the hills which the Samaritans had built. Each of these nations put their god in the city where they settled:

Chapter 17 of the book of 2 kings describes the fall of the kingdom of Israel, which had moved away from God and adopted pagan practices. Deuteronomy 28:64: "And the Lord shall spread you among all peoples from one end of the earth to the other." This verse predicts that if the people of Israel move away from God, he will be dispersed among the nations.

Amos 5:26-27: "But you have taken the tabernacle of your moch, and the image of your images, the star of your God, which you made to you. So I will take you captives, besides apricot, says the Lord, whose name, It is God of hosts. " This verse refers to the worship of idols in Israel, including the veneration of God's star of Remfan, which contributed to the fall of the kingdom of Israel.
