1 Samuel, 13

2. Saul chose three thousand men of Israel. Two thousand were with him in Michmash and in the hills of Bethel, and a thousand with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. Saul sent the rest of the people away, every man to his home.

This verse talks about the danger of violating the laws of God and justice, as Saul does when he offers a sacrifice without the presence of the prophet Samuel. Saul's story in 1 Samuel 13 is an example of how disobedience to God's will can lead to negative consequences.
