1 John, 2

7. My dear friends, I am not writing you a new commandment, but reminding you of an old one, one you had from the beginning. This old commandment is the word you have heard.

Ephesians 2:10: "For we are his own making, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God in advance prepared for us to walk in them." Just as 1 St. John 2 highlights the importance of following the example of Jesus, this verse of Ephesians teaches that we were created in Christ to perform good works that were prepared by God for us.
