1. La seconde part échut par le sort àSiméon, à la tribu des fils de Siméon, selonleurs familles: leur héritage fut au milieu del'héritage des fils de Juda.

1. The second lot fell to Simeon. The heritage of the clans of the tribe of Simeonites lay within that of the Judahites.

2. Ils eurent dans leur héritage: Bersabée,Sabée, Molada,

6. Beth-lebaoth et Sarohen: treize villes et leurs villages.

7. Aïn, Remmon, Athar et Asan, quatre villes et leursvillages;

8. ainsi que tous les villages aux environs de ces villes,jusqu'à Baalath-Béer, qui est la Ramath du midi. --Tel fut l'héritage de la tribu des fils de Siméonselon leurs familles.

8. besides all the villages around these cities as far as Baalath-beer (that is, Ramoth-negeb). This was the heritage of the clans of the tribe of the Simeonites.

9. L'héritage des fils de Siméon fut pris sur laportion des fils de Juda; car la portion des fils de Judaétait trop grande pour eux, et c'est au milieu de leurterritoire que les fils de Siméon reçurent leurhéritage.

9. This heritage of the Simeonites was within the confines of the Judahites; for since the portion of the latter was too large for them, the Simeonites obtained their heritage within it.

10. La troisième part échut par le sort aux fils deZabulon selon leurs familles; la frontière de leurhéritage s'étendait jusqu'à Sarid.

10. The third lot fell to the clans of the Zebulunites. The limit of their heritage was at Sarid.

11. Leur frontière montait vers l'occident, versMérala, touchait à Debbaseth, touchait au torrentqui coule devant Jéconam.

11. Their boundary went up west. . . and through Mareal, reaching Dabbesheth and the wadi that is near Jokneam.

12. De Sarid, elle revenait à l'orient, vers le soleillevant, jusqu'à la frontière deCéseleth-Thabor, aboutissait vers Dabereth et montaità Japhiré.

12. From Sarid eastward it ran to the district of Chisloth-tabor, on to Daberath, and up to Japhia.

13. De là, elle passait, vers l'orient, vers le soleillevant à Geth-Hépher, à Thacasin, etaboutissait à Remmon, qui confine à Noa.

13. From there it continued eastward to Gath-hepher and to Eth-kazin, extended to Rimmon, and turned to Neah.

14. La frontière tournait du côté du nord versHanathon, et aboutissait à la vallée deJephtahel.

14. Skirting north of Hannathon, the boundary ended at the valley of Iphtahel.

15. Les villes étaient: Catheth, Naalol,Séméron, Jedala et Bethléhem: douze villeset leurs villages.

15. Thus, with Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah and Bethlehem, there were twelve cities and their villages

17. La quatrième part échut par le sort àIssachar, aux fils d'Issachar, selon leurs familles.

17. The fourth lot fell to Issachar. The territory of the clans of the Issacharites

18. Leur frontière était Jezraël, Casaloth,Sunem,

19. Hapharaïm, Séon, Anaharath,

24. The fifth lot fell to the clans of the tribe of the Asherites.

25. Leur frontière était Halcath, Chali,

25. Their territory included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph,

26. Béten, Axaph, Elmélech, Amaad et Messal; elletouchait, vers l'occident, au Carmel et à Sihor-Labanath;puis elle tournait vers Beth-Dagon,

26. Allammelech, Amad and Mishal, and reached Carmel on the west, and Shihor-libnath.

27. touchait Zabulon et la vallée de Jephtahel, au nord deBeth-Emec et de Néhiel, et aboutissait àCaboul,

27. In the other direction, it ran eastward of Beth-dagon, reached Zebulun and the valley of Iphtahel; then north of Beth-emek and Neiel, it extended to Cabul,

28. à gauche, et à Abran, Rohob, Hamon, et Cana,jusqu'à Sidon la Grande;

28. Mishal, Abdon, Rehob, Hammon and Kanah, near Greater Sidon.

29. la frontière tournait ensuite vers Ramathjusqu'à la ville forte de Tyr et la frontièretournait vers Hosa, pour aboutir à la mer, près dudistict d'Achziba;

29. Then the boundary turned back to Ramah and to the fortress city of Tyre; thence it cut back to Hosah and ended at the sea. Thus, with Mahalab, Achzib,

30. de plus: Amma, Aphec et Rohob: vingt-deux villes et leursvillages.

33. Leur frontière allait depuis Héleph, àpartir du chêne qui est à Saananim, versAdami-Néceb et Jebnaël, jusqu'à Lécum,et elle aboutissait au Jourdain;

33. extended from Heleph, from the oak at Zaanannim to Lakkum, including Adami-nekeb and Jabneel, and ended at the Jordan.

34. la frontière tournait vers l'occident àAzanoth-Thabor, et de là aboutissait à Hucuca; elletouchait à Zabulon au midi, à Aser àl'occident, et à Juda, près du Jourdain, vers lesoleil levant.

34. In the opposite direction, westerly, it ran through Aznoth-tabor and from there extended to Hukkok; it touched Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west, and the Jordan on the east.

40. The seventh lot fell to the clans of the tribe of Danites.

41. La frontière de leur héritage comprenait Saraa,Esthaol, Hir-Sémès,

41. Their heritage was the territory of Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-shemesh,

42. Sélébin, Ajalon, Jéthéla,

42. Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,

43. Elon, Themna, Acron,

43. Elon, Timnah, Ekron,

44. Elthécé, Gebbéthon, Balaath,

47. Le territoire des fils de Dan s'étendit au dehors dechez eux; car les fils de Dan montèrent et combattirentcontre Lésem; ils s'en emparèrent et lafrappèrent du tranchant de l'épée; en ayantpris possession, ils s'y établirent, etl'appellèrent Dan, du nom de Dan, leur père.

47. But the territory of the Danites was too small for them; so the Danites marched up and attacked Leshem, which they captured and put to the sword. Once they had taken possession of Leshem, they renamed the settlement after their ancestor Dan.

48. These cities and their villages were the heritage of the clans of the tribe of the Danites.

49. Lorsqu'ils eurent achevé de faire le partage du pays,selon ses limites, les enfants d'Israël donnèrentà Josué, fils de Nun, un héritage au milieud'eux.

49. When the last of them had received the portions of the land they were to inherit, the Israelites assigned a heritage in their midst to Joshua, son of Nun.

50. Sur l'ordre de Yahweh, ils lui donnèrent la ville qu'ildemanda, Thamnath-Saré, dans la montagne d'Ephraïm.Josué rebâtit cette ville et il y demeura.

50. In obedience to the command of the LORD, they gave him the city which he requested, Timnah-serah in the mountain region of Ephraim. He rebuilt the city and made it his home.

51. Tels sont les héritages que le prêtreEléazar, Josué, fils de Nun, et les chefs defamille des tribus des enfants d'Israël répartirentpar le sort à Silo, devant Yahweh, àl'entrée de la tente de réunion. Ilsachevèrent ainsi le partage du pays.

51. These are the final portions into which Eleazar the priest, Joshua, son of Nun, and the heads of families in the tribes of the Israelites divided the land by lot in the presence of the LORD, at the door of the meeting tent in Shiloh.
