1. Anche i figli di Aronne avevano le loro classi. Figli di Aronne furono Nadab, Abiu, Eleàzaro e Itamar.

1. The divisions of the sons of Aaron were these. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abi'hu, Elea'zar, and Ith'amar.

2. Nabad e Abiu morirono prima del loro padre senza lasciare figli, perciò il sacerdozio fu esercitato da Eleàzaro e Itamar.

2. But Nadab and Abi'hu died before their father, and had no children, so Elea'zar and Ith'amar became the priests.

3. Davide, insieme a Zadòk dei figli di Eleàzaro e ad Achimèlech dei figli di Itamar, li divise in classi secondo il loro servizio.

3. With the help of Zadok of the sons of Elea'zar, and Ahim'elech of the sons of Ith'amar, David organized them according to the appointed duties in their service.

4. Poiché risultò che i figli di Eleàzaro avevano una somma di uomini maggiore che non i figli di Itamar, vennero suddivisi così: sedici capi di casati per i figli di Eleàzaro, otto capi di casati per i figli di Itamar.

4. Since more chief men were found among the sons of Elea'zar than among the sons of Ith'amar, they organized them under sixteen heads of fathers' houses of the sons of Elea'zar, and eight of the sons of Ith'amar.

5. Questi come quelli vennero suddivisi a sorte, perché sia tra i figli di Eleàzaro che tra quelli di Itamar c'erano dei capi del santuario e dei capi di Dio.

5. They organized them by lot, all alike, for there were officers of the sanctuary and officers of God among both the sons of Elea'zar and the sons of Ith'amar.

6. Lo scriba Semaia, figlio di Netaneèl, levita, li iscrisse alla presenza del re, dei capi, del sacerdote Zadòk, di Achimèlech, figlio di Ebiatàr, dei capi dei casati sacerdotali e levitici; si sorteggiavano due casati per Eleàzaro e uno per Itamar.

6. And the scribe Shemai'ah the son of Nethan'el, a Levite, recorded them in the presence of the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahim'elech the son of Abi'athar, and the heads of the fathers' houses of the priests and of the Levites; one father's house being chosen for Elea'zar and one chosen for Ith'amar.

7. The first lot fell to Jehoi'arib, the second to Jedai'ah,

8. la terza a Carim, la quarta a Seorim,

8. the third to Harim, the fourth to Se-o'rim,

9. la quinta a Malchia, la sesta a Miamin,

9. the fifth to Malchi'jah, the sixth to Mij'amin,

10. la settima ad Akkoz, l'ottava ad Abia,

10. the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abi'jah,

11. la nona a Giosuè, la decima a Secania,

11. the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecani'ah,

12. l'undecima a Eliasib, la dodicesima a Iakim,

12. the eleventh to Eli'ashib, the twelfth to Jakim,

13. la tredicesima a Cuppa, la quattordicesima a Is-Baal,

13. the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jesheb'e-ab,

14. la quindicesima a Bilga, la sedicesima a Immer,

14. the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,

15. la diciassettesima a Chezir, la diciottesima a Happizzès,

15. the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Hap'pizzez,

16. la decimanona a Petachia, la ventesima a Ezechiele,

16. the nineteenth to Pethahi'ah, the twentieth to Jehez'kel,

17. la ventunesima a Iachin, la ventiduesima a Gamul,

17. the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,

18. la ventitreesima a Delaia, la ventiquattresima a Maazia.

18. the twenty-third to Delai'ah, the twenty-fourth to Ma-azi'ah.

19. Queste furono le classi per il loro servizio: entrare nel tempio del Signore secondo la regola trasmessa da Aronne, loro padre, come gli aveva ordinato il Signore, Dio d'Israele.

19. These had as their appointed duty in their service to come into the house of the LORD according to the procedure established for them by Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.

20. Quanto agli altri figli di Levi, per i figli di Amram c'era Subaèl e per i figli di Subaèl c'era Iecdia.

20. And of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shu'ba-el; of the sons of Shu'ba-el, Jehde'iah.

21. Quanto a Recabia, il capo dei figli di Recabia era Issia.

21. Of Rehabi'ah: of the sons of Rehabi'ah, Isshi'ah the chief.

22. Per gli Iseariti, Selomot; per i figli di Selomot, Iacat.

22. Of the Iz'harites, Shelo'moth; of the sons of Shelo'moth, Jahath.

23. Figli di Ebron: Ieria il primo, Amaria secondo, Iacaziel terzo, Iekameam quarto.

23. The sons of Hebron: Jeri'ah the chief, Amari'ah the second, Jaha'ziel the third, Jekame'am the fourth.

24. Figli di Uzziel: Mica, per i figli di Mica, Samir;

24. The sons of Uz'ziel, Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir.

25. fratello di Mica era Issia; per i figli di Issia, Zaccaria.

25. The brother of Micah, Isshi'ah; of the sons of Isshi'ah, Zechari'ah.

26. Figli di Merari: Macli e Musi; per i figli di Iaazia suo figlio.

27. Figli di Merari nella linea di Iaazia suo figlio: Soam, Zaccur e Ibri.

28. Per Macli: Eleazaro, che non ebbe figli.

30. Figli di Musi: Macli, Eder e Ierimot. Questi sono i figli dei leviti secondo i loro casati.

31. Anch'essi, come i loro fratelli, figli di Aronne, furono sorteggiati alla presenza del re Davide, di Sadòk, di Achimèlech, dei capi delle casate sacerdotali e levitiche; il casato del primogenito allo stesso modo di quello del fratello minore.

31. These also, the head of each father's house and his younger brother alike, cast lots, just as their brethren the sons of Aaron, in the presence of King David, Zadok, Ahim'elech, and the heads of fathers' houses of the priests and of the Levites.
