Jeremiah 28 reports the dispute between the prophet Hananias and Jeremiah. Matthew 24:24: "For false Christs and false prophets will be raised, and will make great signs and wonders; in such a way that if possible, they would even deceive the chosen ones." This verse warns of the existence of false prophets who make signs and wonders to deceive people, and states that even Christians can be deceived if they are not aware.

1 John 4:1: "Beloved, do not believe the whole Spirit, but prove whether the spirits are of God; for many false prophets have come out around the world." The verse urges Christians to test spirits to verify that messages and teachings are indeed from God, for many false prophets are acting in the world.
