Hebrews, 7

11. The institutions of the chosen people are founded upon the Levitical priesthood, but with it they could not attain what is perfect and permanent. If that were possible, why would there be need of another priest after the order of Melchizedek instead of Aaron's?

Hebrews 7 deals mainly on the priesthood of Melchizedek and how he relates to the priesthood of Jesus. Here, the author of Hebrews emphasizes the importance of Jesus' death for the remission of sins and the inauguration of a new pact.

Hebrews 10:10: "In which will have been sanctified by the oblation of the body of Jesus Christ, made once." This verse highlights the importance of Jesus' death as a unique and sufficient offer for the sanctification of believers.
