7. Yahweh used this visit to Jeroham to bring about Ahaziah's downfall. On his arrival he went out with Jeroham against Jehu son of Nimshi whom Yahweh had chosen to destroy the family of Ahab.

2 Chronicles 22 reports the rise to the throne of Judah of King Acazias, son of Atalia, who ruled for only one year and followed the bad example of his mother and the king of Israel, Ahab. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter:

1 Kings 16:30-33: "And Ahab, son of Onri, did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord, more than all who were before him ... and Ahab made a little post and thus Ahab He did more to provoke the Lord, God of Israel, the wrath than all the kings of Israel who were before Him.
