Deuteronomy, 17

7. First, the hands of the witnesses shall be upon him who will be put to death, and lastly, the hands of the remainder of the people shall be sent forth. So may you take away the evil from your midst.

Deuteronomy chapter 17 deals with justice and punishment for those who disobey the laws established by God. Leviticus 19:15: "You will not commit injustice in the judgment. You will not make the sense of people with the poor, nor will you lean before the great; with justice you will judge your neighbor." Deuteronomy 19:18-19: "The judges shall inquire well; and behold, being false witness, he falsely witnessed against his brother, then you do how he took care of doing his brother; thus shall you take evil from the middle of you. Proverbs 31:9: "Open thy mouth, judge and do justice to the poor and needy." This verse emphasizes the importance of helping the needy and doing justice to those who do not have enough resources.
