Exodus, 13

15. For when Pharao was hardened, and would not let us go, the Lord slew every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of man to the firstborn of beasts: therefore I sacrifice to the Lord all that openeth the womb of the male sex, and all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.

Chapter 13 of Exodus deals with the celebration of the feast of the punes and the consecration of the firstborn. Moses guides the people of Israel to celebrate the feast every year as a memory of the liberation of Egypt, and also establishes the practice of consecrating all the firstborn of men and animals to the Lord. Next, five verses related to the topics addressed in Exodus 13:

Numbers 18:15: "Every firstborn of all the flesh they present to the Lord, both men and animals, will be yours; yet, you will rescue the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of unclean animals, you will rescue."
