Luc, 3

1. La quinzième année du règne de Tibère César, Ponce Pilate étant gouverneur de la Judée; Hérode, tétrarque de la Galilée; Philippe, son frère, tétrarque de l'Iturée et du pays de la Trachonitide, et Lysanias, tétrarque de l'Abilène;

7. Il disait donc aux foules qui s'en venaient se faire baptiser par lui : " Race de vipères, qui vous a appris à fuir la colère qui vient?

8. Faites donc de dignes fruits de repentir et n'allez pas dire en vous-mêmes : Nous avons Abraham pour père ! Car je vous dis que de ces pierres mêmes Dieu peut faire naître des enfants à Abraham.

8. Produce good fruits as evidence of your repentance; and do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father,' for I tell you, God can raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

9. Déjà la cognée est à la racine des arbres : tout arbre donc qui ne porte pas de bon fruit sera coupé et jeté au feu. "

13. Il leur dit : " N'exigez rien au delà de ce qui vous est prescrit. "
