Chapter 1 of the Book of Amos presents a set of judgment oracles against various nations, including Damascus, Gaza, Tire, Edom and Ammon. These verses demonstrate God's wrath against these nations, which were considered guilty of various crimes. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Amos 1:
Isaiah 17:1 - "Oracle on Damascus: Behold, Damascus will be taken, and will no longer be a city, but will become a lot of ruins." This verse deals with prophecy against Damascus, which is also mentioned in Amos 1:3-5. Both texts speak of the destruction that will come over the city.
Jeremiah 49:23-24-"About Damascus. Hamate and Arpade was embarrassed, because they heard bad news; fade; there is anxiety, one can not settle down. Ezekiel 25:12-14 - "Thus saith the Lord God, For it wraps and Seir say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all nations; so I will open the sides of Moab, from the cities, since the cities. Its border cities, the jewel of the earth, Bete-Jesimote, Baal Meom and Quiriataim, to the sons of the East, along with the sons of Ammon; so that it no longer remembers the nations. " This text deals with prophecy against Ammon, which is mentioned in Amos 1:13-15. Both texts talk about the destruction that will come about the nation.
Isaiah 15:1 - "Oracle over Moab: One night was destroyed from Moab, was destroyed; in one night he was reduced to nothing of Moab, was reduced to nothing." This verse also deals with prophecy against Moab and talks about the destruction that will come over the nation, as mentioned in Amos 1:13-15.
