Hebrews, 7

1. Scripture says that Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, came out to meet Abraham who returned from defeating the kings. He blessed Abraham and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything.

Here, the author of Hebrews emphasizes the importance of Jesus' death for the remission of sins and the inauguration of a new pact.

Hebrews 10:10: "In which will have been sanctified by the oblation of the body of Jesus Christ, made once." This verse highlights the importance of Jesus' death as a unique and sufficient offer for the sanctification of believers.
