Ruth, 4

17. And the women of the near future were congratulating her and saying, “There was a son born to Naomi. They called his name Obed. Here is the father of Jesse, the father of David.”

Ruth 4 narrates the outcome of the story of Ruth and Boaz, in which Boaz becomes the rescuer of Elimelech, Naomi's husband, and marries Ruth. In addition, the chapter shows the importance of compliance with the laws of redemption and inheritance in the Hebrew culture of the time.

Leviticus 25:25: "If your relative impoverishes and sell some part of your property, your nearest rescuer will come and buy what the relative sold." This verse presents the law of property redemption, which is important in the outcome of Ruth's story, as Boaz becomes the elimelech resciator and acquires her property.

Proverbs 31:10-12: "An exemplary wife; Happy who to find it! Is much more valuable than the rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and never lacks anything. Matthew 1:5-6: "Salmon generated Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz generated obed, whose mother was Ruth, obeded generated Jesse." This verse shows the importance of Ruth's story in the genealogy of Jesus Christ, highlighting the relevance of Ruth's story to the Judeo-Christian tradition.
