Chapter 2 of the Book of Hosea addresses the relationship between God and Israel, comparing it with a marriage in crisis. The prophet Hosea talks about the infidelity of Israel and the punishment that will come because of it. He then talks about Israel's repentance and the restoration of the relationship with God. This verse talks about God's love for his people and his joy in seeing them restored to him. This relates to the theme of Hosea 2 about the restoration of God's relationship with Israel.
