Revelation 6 deals with the opening of the first six seals of the book in the hands of the Lamb. Each seal represents a series of judgments and events that occur on Earth during the tribulation. The verses selected below were chosen for their relationship with the themes dealt with in the chapter.
Matthew 24:4-5: "Jesus answered, Watch out, may no one deceive them. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ!' And they will deceive many." This verse talks about the deception that will occur during the tribulation, when false Christs will arise to confuse people.
Zechariah 1:8-10: "At night I had a vision: I saw a man mounted on a red horse, and he was standing between the gorgens. Behind him were red, brown and white horses. This means, my Lord? He answered, These are the horses the Lord sent to patrol the earth. " This verse talks about the patrol of the earth by angels, which is a theme related to God's judgment described in Revelation 6.
Ezekiel 14:13-14: "Son of man, when a land sin against me and I extend my hand against it, cutting its supply of bread and sending hunger against it, exterminating men and animals, even if Noah Daniel and Job were in it, by their own lives they would only get rid of their righteousness, says the sovereign, the Lord.
