Deuteronomy 29 deals with the renewal of the covenant between God and the people of Israel after the death of Moses. Deuteronomy 30:19-20: "Today I invoke heaven and earth as witnesses against you, which I put before you life and death, blessing and curse. Jeremiah 31:31-33: "Days will come, declares the Lord, in which I will make a new covenant with Israel and Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with his ancestors when I took them by the hand to get them out of Egypt, for they broke my covenant, although I am their Lord. This is the covenant I will do with the community of Israel after those days, declares the Lord. I will put my law in their heart and write it in their hearts. God, and they will be my people.
