Job chapter 13 is one of the most dramatic of the book, where Job responds to his friends who accuse him of having committed some sin that would justify his afflictions. Job defends his innocence and even accuses God of oppressing the righteous. The selected verses are related to topics such as justice, faith, redemption and hope in God:
Psalm 119:75: "I know, O Lord, that your judgments are righteous, and that with faithfulness afflicted me." This verse talks about God's righteousness and how he uses afflictions to teach and shape us.
Hebrews 11:1: "Now, faith is the firm foundation of things that are expected, and proof of things that are not seen." Job is an example of unshakable faith in the midst of difficulties, even without understanding the purpose of their afflictions.
Psalm 130:7: "Wait Israel in the Lord, for in the Lord there is mercy, and there is abundant redemption in Him." This verse talks about hope in God and His mercy, which brings redemption and liberation.
Isaiah 40:31: "But those who await the Lord shall renew their strengths, will rise with wings as eagles, rush and not tire, walk and not stick." This verse talks about the renewal of those who await God and how He strengthens and sustains those who trust in Him.
Romans 5:3-5: "And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, experience; and experience, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because the love of God was poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit given to us. " This verse talks about the hope that is born in the midst of tribulations and how God uses the difficulties to shape us and give us experience.
