Lévitique, 8

1. Yahweh parla à Moïse, en disant :

1. On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron and his sons, together with the elders of Israel,

2. " Prends Aaron et ses fils avec lui, les vêtements, l'huile d'onction, le taureau pour le sacrifice pour le péché, les deux béliers et la corbeille de pains sans le­vain,

2. and said to Aaron, "Take a calf for a sin offering and a ram for a holocaust, both without blemish, and offer them before the LORD.

3. et convoque toute l'assemblée à l'entrée de la tente de réunion. "

3. Tell the elders of Israel, too: Take a he-goat for a sin offering, a calf and a lamb, both unblemished yearlings, for a holocaust,

4. Moïse fit ce que Yahweh lui avait or­donné ; et l'assemblée s'étant réunie à l'entrée de la tente de réunion,

4. and an ox and a ram for a peace offering, to sacrifice them before the LORD, along with a cereal offering mixed with oil; for today the LORD will reveal himself to you."

5. Moïse dit à l'assemblée: " Voici ce que Yahweh a ordonné de faire. "

5. So they brought what Moses had ordered. When the whole community had come forward and stood before the LORD,

6. Moïse fit approcher Aaron et ses fils, et il les lava avec de l'eau.

6. Moses said, "This is what the LORD orders you to do, that the glory of the LORD may be revealed to you.

7. Il mit à Aa­ron la tunique, le ceignit de la ceinture, le revêtit de la robe,

7. Come up to the altar," Moses then told Aaron, "and offer your sin offering and your holocaust in atonement for yourself and for your family; then present the offering of the people in atonement for them, as the LORD has commanded."

8. et il plaça sur lui l'éphod, qu'il serra avec la ceinture de l'éphod et il le lui attacha. Il lui mit le pectoral et il joignit au pectoral l'Urim et le Thummim ;

8. Going up to the altar, Aaron first slaughtered the calf that was his own sin offering.

9. et, ayant posé la tiare sur sa tête, il plaça sur le devant de la tiare la lame d'or, diadème sacré, comme Yahweh l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

9. When his sons presented the blood to him, he dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar. The rest of the blood he poured out at the base of the altar.

10. Et Moïse prit l'huile d'onction, il oi­gnit la Demeure et toutes les choses qui étaient dedans, et il les consacra.

10. He then burned on the altar the fat, the kidneys and the lobe of the liver that were taken from the sin offering, as the LORD had commanded Moses;

11. Il en aspergea sept fois l'autel, et il oignit l'autel avec tous ses ustensiles, ainsi que le bassin avec sa base, pour les consacrer.

11. but the flesh and the hide he burned up in the fire outside the camp.

12. Il versa de l'huile d'onction sur la tête d'Aaron, et l'oignit pour le consacrer. Moïse fit aussi approcher les fils d'Aaron ;

12. Then Aaron slaughtered his holocaust. When his sons brought him the blood, he splashed it on all sides of the altar.

13. il les revêtit de tuniques, les cei­gnit de ceintures et leur attacha des mitres, comme Yahweh l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

13. They then brought him the pieces and the head of the holocaust, and he burned them on the altar.

14. II fit approcher le taureau du sacrifice pour le péché, et Aaron et ses fils posé­rent leurs mains sur la tête du taureau du sacrifice pour le péché.

14. Having washed the inner organs and the shanks, he burned these also with the holocaust on the altar.

15. Moïse l'égorgea, prit du sang, en mit avec son doigt sur les cornes de l'autel tout autour, et purifia l'autel ; il répandit le reste du sang au pied de l'autel, et le consacra en faisant sur lui l'expiation.

15. Thereupon he had the people's offering brought up. Taking the goat that was for the people's sin offering, he slaughtered it and offered it up for sin as before.

16. Il prit ensuite toute la graisse qui enveloppe les entrailles, la taie du foie et les deux rognons avec leur graisse, et il les fit fumer sur l'autel.

16. Then he brought forward the holocaust, other than the morning holocaust, and offered it in the usual manner.

17. Mais le taureau, sa peau, sa chair et ses excréments, il les brûla hors du camp, comme Yahweh l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

17. He then presented the cereal offering; taking a handful of it, he burned it on the altar.

18. Il fit approcher le bélier de l'holocauste, et Aaron et ses fils posèrent leurs mains sur la tête du bélier.

18. Finally he slaughtered the ox and the ram, the peace offering of the people. When his sons brought him the blood, Aaron splashed it on all sides of the altar.

19. On l'égorgea et Moïse répandit le sang sur l'autel tout autour.

19. The portions of fat from the ox and from the ram, the fatty tail, the fatty membrane over the inner organs, the two kidneys, with the fat that is on them, and the lobe of the liver,

20. Puis on coupa le bélier en morceaux, et Moïse fit fumer la tête, les morceaux et la graisse.

20. he placed on top of the breasts and burned them on the altar,

21. On lava dans l'eau les entrailles et les jambes, et Moïse fit fumer tout le bélier sur l'autel : c'était un holo­causte d'agréable odeur, un sacrifice fait par le feu à Yahweh, comme Yahweh l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

21. having first waved the breasts and the right legs as a wave offering before the LORD, in keeping with the LORD'S command to Moses.

22. Il fit approcher l'autre bélier, le bélier d'installation. Aaron et ses fils ayant posé leurs mains sur la tâte du bélier,

22. Aaron then raised his hands over the people and blessed them. When he came down from offering the sin offering and holocaust and peace offering,

23. Moïse égorgea le bélier, prit de son sang, et en mit sur le lobe de l'oreille droite d'Aaron, sur le pouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pied droit.

23. Moses and Aaron went into the meeting tent. On coming out they again blessed the people. Then the glory of the LORD was revealed to all the people.

24. Il fit appro­cher les fils d'Aaron, mit du sang sur le lobe de leur oreille droite, sur le pouce de leur main droite et sur le gros orteil de leur pied droit;

24. Fire came forth from the LORD'S presence and consumed the holocaust and the remnants of the fat on the altar. Seeing this, all the people cried out and fell prostrate.

25. puis il répandit le reste du sang sur l'autel tout autour. Il prit ensuite la graisse, la queue, toute la graisse qui couvre les entrailles, la taie du foie, les deux rognons avec leur graisse, et la cuisse droite ;

26. il prit aussi, de la corbeille de pains sans levain pla­cée devant Yahweh, un gâteau sans le­vain, un gâteau de pain pétri à l'huile et une galette, et il les posa sur les graisses et sur la cuisse droite;

26.

27. et ayant mis tou­tes ces choses sur les mains d'Aaron et sur les mains de ses fils, il les balança en offrande devant Yahweh.

27.

28. Puis Moïse les ôta de dessus leurs mains, et les fit fumer sur l'autel, par-dessus l'holocauste; car c'était un sacrifice d'installation, d'agréa­ble odeur, sacrifice fait par le feu à Yah­weh.

29. Moïse prit la poitrine du bélier d'ins­tallation et la balança en offrande de­vant Yahweh : ce fut la portion de Moïse, comme Yahweh l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

29.

30. Moïse prit de l'huile d'onction et du sang qui était sur l'autel ; il en fit l'as­persion sur Aaron et sur ses vêtements, sur les fils d'Aaron et sur leurs vête­ments, et il consacra ainsi Aaron et ses vêtements, ses fils et leurs vêtements avec lui.

30.

31. Moïse dit à Aaron et à ses fils : " Fai­tes cuire la chair à l'entrée de la tente de réunion ; c'est là que vous la mangerez, avec le pain qui est dans la corbeille d'installation, comme je l'ai ordonné en disant : Aaron et ses fils la mangeront.

31.

32. Et ce qui restera de la chair et du pain, vous le brûlerez dans le feu.

32.

33. Pendant sept jours vous ne sortirez point de l'en­trée de la tente de réunion, jusqu'à ce que soient accomplis les jours de votre installation ; car votre installation durera sept jours.

33.

34. Ce qui s'est fait aujourd'hui, Yahweh a ordonné de le faire durant sept jours afin de faire l'expiation pour vous.

34.

35. Vous resterez sept jours, jour et nuit, à l'entrée de la tente de réunion, et vous observerez les ordres de Yahweh, afin que vous ne mouriez pas ; car c'est là ce qui m'a été ordonné. "

35.

36. Aaron et ses fils firent toutes les choses que Yahweh avait commandées par Moïse.
