Isaïe, 66

1. Ainsi parle Yahweh: Le ciel est mon trône, et la terre est l'escabeau de mes pieds quelle est la maison que vous me bâtiriez, et quel serait le lieu de non repos?

1. Thus says the LORD: The heavens are my throne, the earth is my footstool. What kind of house can you build for me; what is to be my resting place?

2. Toutes ces choses, ma main les a faites, et toutes ces choses sont arrivées ainsi a l'existence, -- oracle de Yahweh, Voici celui que je regarde : celui qui est humble, qui a le coeur brisé et qui tremble à ma parole.

2. My hand made all these things when all of them came to be, says the LORD. This is the one whom I approve: the lowly and afflicted man who trembles at my word.

3. Celui qui immole un boeuf tue un homme ; celui qui sacrifie une brebis égorge un chien; celui qui présente une oblation offre du sang de porc ; celui qui fait brûler l'encens bénit une idole. Comme ils choisissent leurs voies, et elle leur âme se comptait dans leurs abominations,

3. Merely slaughtering an ox is like slaying a man; sacrificing a lamb, like breaking a dog's neck; Bringing a cereal offering, like offering swine's blood; burning incense, like paying homage to an idol. Since these have chosen their own ways and taken pleasure in their own abominations,

4. moi aussi je choisirai leur infortune, et je ferai venir sur eux ce qu'ils redoutent, parce que j'ai appelé, et personne n'a répondu ; j'ai parlé, et ils n'ont pas entendu ; ils ont fait ce qui est mal à mes yeux, et ils ont choisi ce qui me déplaît.

4. I in turn will choose ruthless treatment for them and bring upon them what they fear. Because, when I called, no one answered, when I spoke, no one listened; Because they did what was evil in my sight, and chose what gave me displeasure,

5. Ecoutez la parole de Yahweh, vous qui tremblez à sa parole : Ils ont dit, vos frères qui vous baissent et vous repoussent à cause de mon nom: "Que Yahweh montre sa gloire, afin que nous voyions votre joie !" Mais ils seront confondus.

5. Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: Your brethren who, because of my name, hate and reject you, say, "Let the LORD show his glory that we may see your joy"; but they shall be put to shame.

6. Un fracas, un tumulte monte de la ville, une clameur monte du temple ! C'est la voix de Yahweh, qui paie à ses ennemis leur salaire.

6. A sound of roaring from the city, a sound from the temple, The sound of the LORD repaying his enemies their deserts!

7. Avant d'être en travail, elle a enfanté; avant que les douleurs lui vinssent, elle a mis au monde un enfant mâle.

7. Before she comes to labor, she gives birth; Before the pains come upon her, she safely delivers a male child.

8. Qui a jamais entendu rien de pareil, qui a jamais rien vu de semblable? Un pays naît-il en un jour, une nation est-elle enfantée d'un seul coup, que Sion, à peine en travail, ait mis au monde ses fils?

8. Who ever heard of such a thing, or saw the like? Can a country be brought forth in one day, or a nation be born in a single moment? Yet Zion is scarcely in labor when she gives birth to her children.

9. Ouvrirais-je le sein, et ne ferais-je pas enfanter? dit Yahweh; ou bien moi qui fais naître, fermerais-je le sein? dit ton Dieu.

9. Shall I bring a mother to the point of birth, and yet not let her child be born? says the LORD; Or shall I who allow her to conceive, yet close her womb? says your God.

10. Réjouissez-vous avec Jérusalem, et soyez dans l'allégresse à cause d'elle, vous tous qui l'aimez 1 Tressaillez de joie avec elle, vous tous qui pleuriez sur elle,

10. Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad because of her, all you who love her; Exult, exult with her, all you who were mourning over her!

11. afin que vous soyez allaités et rassasiés à la mamelle de ses consolations, afin que vous savouriez avec délices la plénitude de sa gloire !

11. Oh, that you may suck fully of the milk of her comfort, That you may nurse with delight at her abundant breasts!

12. Car ainsi parie Yahweh : Je vais faire couler sur elle la paix comme un fleuve, et la gloire des nations comme un torrent qui déborde; et vous serez allaités, portés sur le sein, caressés sur les genoux.

12. For thus says the LORD: Lo, I will spread prosperity over her like a river, and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing torrent. As nurslings, you shall be carried in her arms, and fondled in her lap;

13. Comme un homme que sa mère console, ainsi je vous consolerai, et vous serez consolés dans Jérusalem.

13. As a mother comforts her son, so will I comfort you; in Jerusalem you shall find your comfort.

14. Vous le verrez, et votre coeur sera dans la joie, et vos os reprendront vigueur comme l'herbe. Et la main de Yahweh se fera connaître à ses serviteurs; et son indignation à ses ennemis.

14. When you see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bodies flourish like the grass; The LORD'S power shall be known to his servants, but to his enemies, his wrath.

15. Car voici que Yahweh vient dans le feu, et son char est semblable à l'ouragan, pour déverser sa colère en embrasement et ses menaces en flammes de feu.

15. Lo, the LORD shall come in fire, his chariots like the whirlwind, To wreak his wrath with burning heat and his punishment with fiery flames.

16. Car Yahweh exerce le jugement par le feu; et par son épée, contre toute chair; et nombreux seront ceux que Yahweh aura percés.

16. For the LORD shall judge all mankind by fire and sword. and many shall be slain by the LORD.

17. Ceux qui se sanctifient et se purifient pour aller dans les jardins, derrière celui qui se tient au milieu, ceux qui mangent de la chair de porc, des mets abominables et des souris, périront tous ensemble, --oracle de Yahweh,

17. They who sanctify and purify themselves to go to the groves, as followers of one who stands within, they who eat swine's flesh, loathsome things and mice, shall all perish with their deeds and their thoughts, says the LORD.

18. Moi, je connais leurs oeuvres et leurs pensées ! Le temps est venu de rassembler toutes les nations et toutes les langues. Elles viendront et verront ma gloire,

18. I come to gather nations of every language; they shall come and see my glory.

19. et je ferai un prodige au milieu d'eux. Et j'enverrai de leurs réchappés vers les nations, à Tarsis, à Phul et à Lud, qui tirent de l'arc, à Tubal et à Javan, vers les îles lointaines, qui n'ont jamais entendu parler de moi, et qui n'ont pas vu ma gloire; et ils publieront ma gloire parmi les nations.

19. I will set a sign among them; from them I will send fugitives to the nations: to Tarshish, Put and Lud, Mosoch, Tubal and Javan, to the distant coastlands that have never heard of my fame, or seen my glory; and they shall proclaim my glory among the nations.

20. Et ils ramèneront tous vos frères du milieu de toutes les nations, en offrande à Yahweh, sur des chevaux, sur des chars, en litière, sur des mulets et des dromadaires, vers ma montagne sainte, à Jérusalem, dit Yahweh, comme les enfants d'Israël apportent l'offrande dans un vase pur à la maison de Yahweh.

20. They shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the LORD, on horses and in chariots, in carts, upon mules and dromedaries, to Jerusalem, my holy mountain, says the LORD, just as the Israelites bring their offering to the house of the LORD in clean vessels.

21. Et j'en prendrai même parmi eux pour prêtres et pour lévites, dit Yahweh.

21. Some of these I will take as priests and Levites, says the LORD.

22. Car comme les nouveaux cieux et la nouvelle terre, que je vais créer, subsisteront devant moi, -- oracle de Yahweh, ainsi subsisteront votre postérité et votre nom.

22. As the new heavens and the new earth which I will make Shall endure before me, says the LORD, so shall your race and your name endure.

23. De nouvelle lune en nouvelle lune, et de sabbat en sabbat, toute chair viendra se prosterner devant moi, dit Yahweh.

23. From one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, All mankind shall come to worship before me, says the LORD.

24. Et quand ils sortiront, ils verront les cadavres des hommes qui se sont révoltés contre moi; car leur ver ne mourra point, et leur feu me s'éteindra point, et ils seront en horreur à toute chair.$

24. They shall go out and see the corpses of the men who rebelled against me; Their worm shall not die, nor their fire be extinguished; and they shall be abhorrent to all mankind.
