2 Maccabees, 13

12. So when they had all done this together, and besought the merciful Lord with weeping and fasting, and lying flat upon the ground three days long, Judas, having exhorted them, commanded they should be in a readiness.

1 Kings 8:44: "When your people go to the war against the enemy you have been to send you, and pray to the Lord, turned to the city you have chosen and to the temple I built for your name." This verse highlights the importance of praying toward the temple of God, something Judas and his men also did during battle.
