Thus saith the Lord about you: You do not fear, nor are you scary because of this great multitude. ; for the battle is not yours, but of God. " This verse deals with the battle that occurs in 1 Maccabees 9 between the armies of Judas and Baquids. As in the verse of 2 chronicles, the battle of 1 Macabees is seen as a God -guided struggle.

Psalm 44:6: "I don't trust my bow, nor can my sword save me." This verse deals with the theme of confidence in weapons and physical strength. In 1 Maccabees 9, Judas Macabeu and his men are overcome by the soldiers of baquids, but trust God to help them overcome the battle.
