Joshua, 1

15. Until the LORD have given your brethren rest, as [he hath given] you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD'S servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.

Joshua chapter 1 marks the beginning of Joshua's leadership over the children of Israel after the death of Moses. God commissiones Joshua to lead the people in conquering the promised land, and encourages them to be strong and brave. Matthew 28:19-20: "Therefore, go, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all the things I have sent you; And behold, I am with you every day, until the consummation of the centuries. " This verse highlights the importance of obeying God's orders and following his command, just as Joshua was commissioned by God to lead his people in conquering the promised land.
