Genesis 39 narrates Joseph's story in Egypt, where he is sold as a slave by his brothers and becomes a servant of Potiphar, an Egyptian officer. In the chapter, Joseph is unfairly accused by Potifar's wife of trying to seduce her and is thrown into prison.
