1 Kings, 2

22. King Solomon answered his mother, "And why do you ask Ab'ishag the Shu'nammite for Adoni'jah? Ask for him the kingdom also; for he is my elder brother, and on his side are Abi'athar the priest and Jo'ab the son of Zeru'iah."

Chapter 2 of 1 kings deals with the death of King David and the succession of the throne by Solomon, his son. Psalm 72:1: "O God, give the King your judgments, and your righteousness to the Son of the King." This psalm talks about justice that must be exercised by kings and how they must govern with equity. Proverbs 20:28: "Mercy and truth keep the king, and with mercy sustains his throne."
