Numbers, 26

57. And these [are] they that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites: of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites: of Merari, the family of the Merarites.

Chapter 26 of the Book of Numbers presents a census of the children of Israel after the death of the generation that had been told in the first census. The verses below relate to topics covered in this chapter:

Genesis 46:8: "And these are the names of the children of Israel, who entered Egypt, Jacob and his children: Rúben, the firstborn of Jacob." This verse mentions the eldest son of Jacob, Rúben, who is also listed as Israel's firstborn in the census of numbers 26.

Exodus 6:15: "And these are the children of Levi, according to his generations: Gérson, Coate and Merari; and the years of Levi's life were one hundred and thirty -seven years." This verse presents Levi's three sons, which were the ancestors of the three levitic families who were told in the 26th census.

Deuteronomy 2:14: "And the time we went from Cades-Barnéia, until we passed the Ribeiro de Zerede, was thirty-eight years; Lord had sworn to them. " This verse mentions the time period from the first count to the second count, which is recorded in numbers 26.
