Jeremiah, 20

11. But the LORD [is] with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: [their] everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.

Jeremiah 20 reports the suffering and anguish of the prophet Jeremiah, who is persecuted and ridiculed by speaking the word of the Lord. He is deceived by God and would wish to have not been born. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Jeremiah 20:

Psalm 31:13: "For I heard the slander of many; terror everywhere! They gathered and conspired against me, planning to take my life." Like Jeremiah, the psalmist is surrounded by enemies who plot against him.

" James encourages believers to follow the example of the prophets and to maintain patience in the midst of difficulties, remembering that God is merciful and just.
